Market Square Quilt

Hi there!  Today is a really special day! It's my mom's birthday!  Happy Birthday Mom!

To celebrate her birthday, I wanted to show you one of her latest quilt finishes with you all!

My mom whips out quilts like it's nobody's business.  I have several that I need to show you in the coming weeks!

Market Square Pattern by: Red Crinoline Quilts

My mom worked on this quilt for quite a while, it was one of those quilts that you work on a little at a time between other projects.  She would take about a block or two and sew them and then put it away for a while.

This quilt is made up of two blocks that are put on point.  It really makes for an interesting pattern!
I love the scrappy goodness of this quilt, and it is actually quite a large quilt!

The backing on this quilt is flannel, and the quilting was done by Kathy Lefler.

I love how it turned out, and in person this quilt is really quite amazing! :)

This quilt was made from a kit, and the pattern is from Red Crinoline Quilts!

Braided Quilt

Hi there! I am excited to share with you another one of my mom's creations! I really can't keep up with all the quilts and fun stuff she has been making.  Today I wanted to share with you this fun "braided quilt" with you today.

My mom and I are pretty much obsessed with the Missouri Star Quilt Company and we love watching Jenny's awesome tutorials.  I am certain my mom could own stock in their company because she orders from their online store on a weekly basis!  She found their "Friendship Braid" Quilt tutorial a while back and had to make one:

Snowman Mug Rug and Tree Table Runner

Hi there! I hope you had a good weekend.  I, unfortunately have been sicker than a dog.  I have a horrible cough coupled with my asthma--makes me pretty much miserable. I went to the dr. on Friday and got several different medications to help with whatever sickness I have and one of them made me a complete basket case! The Dr. said that this medicine would make me "irritable."  Well I am pretty sure that was an understatement! One minute I was happy and feeling great, the next minute I was mean, and the next minute I was crying! I have never felt so moody in my life.  I am so glad I only had to take it for three days.  I will NEVER ever take that medication again.  I am still taking another antibiotic and hopefully I will feel better soon.

With that being said, I didn't get much sewing done over the weekend.  Which was sad for me, but I got to indulge in a new series I started on Netflix! I love having Netflix marathons!

Let's get to some awesome projects brought to you by:

My mom is a quilting maniac! I don't know when this lady stops! All weekend long she texted me pictures of new projects that she's doing! I can't wait to go visit and take lots of pictures to share.

Today I wanted to share with you two projects that would be lovely for your Christmas table.

Aren't these mug rug's adorable?  My mom is a mug rug making fool.  She has made a ton of these and others for Christmas gifts this year.  These are just a couple of my favorites! I also happen to love this line of fabric she used and it just is perfect for these little mug rugs.

Work In Progress

Hi there!  It's been kind of a theme to post what I'm working on, on Wednesday's.  I have so many works in progress I can't even see straight!! I don't know how I went from learning to quilt just a few months ago, to having several (6) quilts in progress.  Sadly, most of them are under wraps and I can't show you! So instead,  I'm excited to show you another great quilt my mom is working on!

She has been hard at work making tumbler quilts!

This is not my mom's style at all.  She likes muted earthy tones that are more traditional.  I  however, love the bright and vibrant prints that just pop! So when she bought this fabric I was shocked!  I love the colors and the bold patterns and colors of this line.

When I last talked to my mom, she told me that this lovely quilt is quilted and almost done! She is giving it as a Christmas present, so I can't wait to get some photographs of the finished quilt when I see her during Thanksgiving! :)

In From The Cold Quilt {Pattern by Kate Spain}

Hi there! I hope you all had a fun weekend.  We had a busy, fun-filled weekend! Now it's back to regular programming around here, well except for the fact my husband will be going to Engineer's Conference all week.  :(  So this leaves me with the kids all week long.....I hope I don't lose what's left of my sanity! :)

Today I am going to share with you another of my mom's creations!  I am really excited about this quilt she made.  I am even more excited that you can get this pattern for free!

The pattern is called "In From the Cold" by Kate Spain.

My mom bought this as a quilt kit a few months ago and she just completed it a few weeks back.  The piecing was all done by my mom: Nettie and the quilting was done by our friend Kathy.

Fall Pumpkin Table Runner

I had a rough weekend. I had these glorious plans of eating and sewing all weekend long.  However, my weekend did not quite play out that way.
