Wood Conversation Hearts

What's Valentine's Day without Conversation Hearts? Conversation Hearts are probably the most recognizable Valentine's Day candy ever....So I decided to make my own version of the popular candy! Only mine are not edible! :)

Bird Frame with Paper Fan Flower

Remember these frames from my last post? Well I finally figured out what to do with them! Since I kind of have a bird theme for our room, I decided to stick with it and add some more birds!! Plus, I just bought the cricut cartridge "give a hoot" and had to try it out!!

I am loving the bird trend right now! I can't wait to do more bird themed projects! This project was so easy and way inexpensive. It was also a project that can be done in less than an hour! The longest part is making the flowers! Everything else is a piece of cake!

Supplies:

Frame
Mat Board
An old book (that you can tear out the pages)
Mod Podge
Black bird cut out. (I used the cricut cartridge "give a hoot")
Hot Glue
Buttons
Distressing Ink

Step 1: Cut out a piece of mat board to fit your frame. Mine was 10x10

Step 2: Tear out pages of an old book and mod podge them on your mat board

This is what it will look like when you've covered your whole board

Step 3: Mod podge your bird on top of the paper

Step 4: make your Fan-Flowers ( I made one large, one medium, and one small flower for this frame)

Step 5: Hot glue your fan-flowers on your frame

That's it! How easy was that!! I love how it turned out and it definitely goes with the rest of the decor in my room! And the best part was that it didn't cost me a dime! I had all of the supplies on hand from other projects.

Patriotic Star Frame

I grew up in a home where my mom decorated the house for each holiday. I always loved to help her get out the decorations and find places for them each year. Now that I have my own home to decorate, I try to decorate for every holiday just like my mom did when i was growing up.

My collection is still very small and every year I try to add something to each of my holiday collections! It can get expensive if you just buy things that are already made, so that is why I try really hard to make things that are cute but really inexpensive! And this brings me to my next craft project!

This project is so easy! It only took me about an hour! It would have taken less if I didn't have to watch paint dry! :) (i hate watching paint dry!)

This seriously is the perfect patriotic project! It was so easy and it is small enough it could go just about anywhere and make your house look so cute and festive! This would also be a great project for your kids to help you with!

Supplies Needed:
1 Wood frame (4 x 6)
Paint
Rub n' buff
Coordinating scrapbook paper
hot glue
mod podge

Here is the tutorial!

Step 1: Paint your frame. I used a dark blue paint and then I went over it with some Rub n' Buff and then sanded it to make it look older.

Step 2: Cut out your main piece of paper to fit to the size of your frame and then mod podge the paper onto the cardboard.

Step 3: Cut out 2 stars that can be layered on one another.

Step 4: Use a piece of ribbon or decorative tape and glue to the middle of your main piece of paper.

Step 5: Mod Podge your stars onto the paper

Step 6: Cut out your letters that say USA or anything else you like! Then mod podge them on your frame.

Step 7: hot glue a couple of buttons on your frame and embellish with anything else you like!

And you're done!

See how easy that was!! This project only cost me a dollar! I bought the frame at Michael's a long time ago and it cost me a buck! I had all of the other supplies on hand! I love how it turned out and it looks really festive! You could definitely make this project your own by adding different embellishments! I hope you like it! :)

Mod Podged Bird House with Frame

Hey Everyone, if you weren't able to check my tutorial out at Mod Podge Rocks, here it is!
So here it is! My Mod Podged Bird House with frame!

Let's get started!

Supplies Needed

1 wood bird house
1 8 x 10 black frame. (i had an old frame i painted black)
antique white paint
Scrapbook paper
Mod Podge
Distressing Ink
Hot glue

Step 1: If your frame isn't black, paint it!

Step 2: While your frame is drying, Paint your bird house with the paint of your choice, I used antique white

Step 3: After your house is dry, distress it with some distressing ink! And then it's time to measure the dimensions of the sides, front, and top of your house! Once you have measured these, cut your paper to fit

Step 4: Apply a thin layer of mod podge on your house then lay your paper over that and apply another layer of mod podge to seal the edges.

Step 5. After your mod podge is dry, hot glue the rope to the back of your frame!!

How easy is that! Only 5 steps!!!!
I love how it turned out and it was so simple anyone can do this!!

"Grow" Flowers Frame

If you weren't able to check out my tutorial on Someday Crafts last week, here it is! :)

Today I am going to show you how to make a simple frame for a little girl's room. I have a 2 1/2 year old daughter and I am slowly starting to decorate her room. I am doing this one small project at at time and this project is so perfect for her room! It is so simple and cute and would be great on a shelf or dresser!

Okay, let's get started:

Supplies Needed
1 4 x 6 wood frame
Paint
mod podge
hot glue
Scrapbooking paper
buttons
ribbon

Step 1: paint your frame.

Step 2: While your frame is drying, take the chipboard piece out. This is what we are going to mod podge everything to. Cut out a 4 x 6 piece of paper to fit the piece of chip board.

Step 3: Mod podge your piece of paper on the chip board.

Step 4: While your mod podge and paint is still drying, make some paper flowers. You will need a total of six for this project.

Step 5: cut out the word "grow" (or any other word you prefer) Mine is 1" tall and is from the cricut cartridge "home accents"

Step 6: Cut out a small piece of coordinating paper 2 1/2 x 6 inches and distress the edges with the color of your choice. I used a greenish color for this project.

Step 7: Mod podge the strip of paper onto your main piece of chipboard. I did mine towards the top. Mod podge the word grow in the bottom, right hand corner.

Step 8: hot glue a piece of ribbon across your piece of paper

Step 9: Hot glue three paper flowers in the middle of your papers

Step 10: Hot glue the 3 remaining flowers on the edge of your frame.

Step 11: Distress the edges of your frame. I also did this with a greenish color!

And you're done!

I hope you like it!
