My little safari man and buttons!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!

I had a great weekend, but I do have to say that daylight savings is already kicking my butt!
Whoever decided that this would be a great idea, did NOT have kids.  (just saying)

Anyways, I will stop complaining about this darn time change and get onto what I was really going to talk about. :)

Charlie has a build-a-bear that is dressed like a "safari" bear.  Well, Hannah decided to undress the bear the other day and she never put his clothes back on.

I saw the clothes sitting on the floor and thought, wow those might fit Charlie. :)

They did.

Sort of.

They may be a little tight.

I could not control my laughter.  So I took a picture.

The hubby, well he thought I crossed the line.

My rebuttal: "at least they weren't girl clothes."

Charlie was NOT happy about the whole situation.

He would rather be naked.

Now onto the buttons.

I made  3 different buttons.

They are all on my sidebar, so feel free to grab one. :)

Which hair style do you like better?

Okay, I need you all to help me settle a dispute I'm having with the hubby. Charlie has enough hair now that we can actually style it. Well the hubby HATES when I spike his hair into a faux hawk. He would much rather it be combed to the side or not have it done at all.

So I need your opinions:

Spiked up

Or combed to the side

So I am leaving it up to you guys. Tell me which one you like better!

Ruffled Shamrock Shirt

I decided to pull out my sewing machine the other day. Whenever I do this I almost always regret it. Sewing just doesn't come naturally to me. You might laugh at this, but I had no idea how to make a ruffle until a week ago! It wasn't until this video tutorial that I finally found enough courage to try it out! To tell you the truth--it wasn't hard at all. I was actually pretty surprised that a ruffle could be that easy.

So I have been hard at work making ruffles. I made Hannah a ruffled heart shirt for Valentine's Day. It was so easy I decided to try my hand at a Shamrock ruffled shirt. It took a lot longer than I had expected, but I eventually got through it. I am having a hard time making my ruffles all look the same. Some of them are really tight, and others are not as tight.

Anyways, since I made Hannah this shirt, I had to make Charlie a little onsie to match. Don't worry his is NOT ruffled! :) His is just appliqued.

I am afraid to say that I may be addicted to ruffles!

1 1/2 weeks post lip repair

Charlie is doing wonderfully. It will be two weeks on monday since his lip repair surgery and he is as adorable as ever. :) He has his cranky moments, but for the most part he has been such a trooper throughout the last two weeks. Here are some recent pictures of my little man:

Charlie's Lip Surgery

Charlie had is surgery on Monday and everything went beautifully. He is doing so great! All of his nurses couldn't believe how well he was doing. We came home Tuesday and everything is going great! He eats like a champ and hardly ever fusses. He is still swollen and it will take about a week for it to go away. He hates his arm restraints, but other than that he's almost back to his happy self. We got him to smile a few hours after surgery and he even started giggling at my husband the day after surgery!

Right before surgery

Right after surgery

The day after surgery
I just wanted to thank all of you for your thoughts and prayers for little Charlie. You guys are awesome! :)

Charlie James is Here!

This post is a little late... :)

Charlie James was born on 11-4-2010
Weighing 7 pounds 1 oz, 19 inches long

Charlie decided to make his entrance 2 weeks early! He is the sweetest thing and we couldn't love him more!

Charlie was born with a cleft lip, which was detected at his 20 week ultrasound. We were pleasantly surprised when he was born that it did not involve his palate. We were told in many ultrasounds that his palate was involved and we were preparing for that. So we truly feel blessed that his palate was not involved. When the palate is involved it is a lot more tricky and there are a lot more surgeries and complications that can occur.

He will still have to have a couple of surgeries to repair his lip and his gum-line. He will have his first just after the New Year. He is the sweetest little baby, and I feel so blessed to be his mom! :)

Another hat for Charlie

I can't take any credit for these creations. These were created by my mom. Who I know I've mentioned many times....but she knows how to craft! :)

I ran into the cutest etsy shop a little while back...you might have heard of it. It's called "Inner Hooker." They have THE cutest baby hat patterns in the world. So when I showed my mom, she did what Grandma's do...and made Charlie some more hats!

I am in love with these! So in love....he will be coming home from the hospital in the red one...it is so tiny and so cute! :)

Thanks mom for another fabulous creation! :)

Charlie's Blanket

It is finally done.
I feel like this project has been going on for as long as I've been pregnant. (which by the way..is almost 33 weeks!)

The front is cozy baby flannel and the back is really soft minky-like fabric.
We made it WAY bigger than crib size because we wanted him to be able to use it for a while.
I got the elephant pattern from one of my most favorite blogs---little birdie secrets
The colors match perfectly with everything else in his nursery.

Thanks to my mom for her sewing skills and helping me get this project done!
One more project checked off the list! :)

beanies, onesies, and baby advice!

I can't believe I only have 2 more months left until baby Charlie comes! I have been doing project after project for this little one! I am pretty sure my Mom is sick of me.....lol she's been helping me with all of the sewing projects because we all know I am NOT a sewer!

Saturday, I got to spend the day with my mom and we were supposed to finish Charlie's quilt.....well instead we started two more projects! We made some tie onesies and also started a car seat canopy cover. We will hopefully finish the canopy cover next week. :) As for the quilt....who knows when that thing is ever going to get finished!!!

I feel like I'm drowning in baby projects!!! :) This little one is going to be spoiled!

I wanted to show you the onesies we made. I know these are nothing new and you've probably seen them a million times, but I am proud of them! They were super easy and I found the pattern on Crap I've Made. It seriously took like 30 minutes to make both onesies. I am definitely going to be doing more applique onesies. They are so easy and so cute!

These beanies are made by my Mom. I just have to say my mom is one amazing woman! She knows how to do everything. One thing she is amazing at is Crocheting. She is in the process of teaching me how to crochet and I am working on a little beanie like these one's.

Last of all, I am getting closer and closer to my due date and I still feel like I am not ready! I feel like I still have a million things to buy! So I am asking you...

What is something you could not live without when you had a baby?!

Oh and I am in search of a diaper bag....I would make one...but that would be one more project to add to the list and I'm sure it wouldn't get done it time! Plus, I don't think I'm at the sewing level required to make a diaper bag :) So if you know of any cute/functional diaper bags I would love to see them!
