Big News!

So,  I have some really exciting news to share! We just bought our first house!  I am incredibly excited about finally owning a home and putting my stamp on it.  I can't wait to give you a little tour and post my updates on how I decorate each room.  It's going to be a slow process, but I really want to spend time on each room and get it exactly how I want it.

You can see that the front yard is all landscaped, but the backyard is completely unfinished.  So we are going to put most of our efforts into completing the backyard this spring and putting in a garden.  I can't wait to share all the updates and the process of how it goes.  :)

The basement is also unfinished, so we will be doing that as well.  My husband is really handy and can do most the work himself!-so it's  just a matter of time before we can finish it up.  I will definitely post all of our progress throughout each project.

So if you've wondered why I have been kind of absent on the blog, this is one of the reasons! The last month or two have seriously been a whirlwind and I can't believe we now have a home that we can call our own! :)

How exciting! Tomorrow will be my one year anniversary in my first house! We still have a lot of work to do in all of the rooms, but when we first moved in we did a few quick "slap up" jobs to get things done quickly. In a way I regret it because it looks messy in places but at the same time it's allowing me to enjoy my house 'my' way. Our kitchen had dark orange walls and dark green cabinets!! We painted the cabinets white, changed their handles and painted the walls an apple green so it looks really fresh! We have lots of other ideas that we now wish we did differently or had done at all, but living in the space the way we did is more enjoyable than the previous owners yechh. We still need to remove her muddy yellow paint from our bedroom and loungeroom, though we've been much more undecided about what we want to do there! I'll be interested to see your garden progress! That's definitely somewhere we need to tackle for our own place :)

That's terrific! I'm so excited for you! We built our home before we had kids & never thought we'd still be here 35 years later. I hope you love yours as much as we've loved ours!
